Pusoy Dos Offline is a well-known card game originating from the Philippines. It merges elements of Poker and Gin Rummy in its gameplay.
Pusoy Dos is a turn-based card game that accommodates up to four players, with each player being dealt 13 cards. The primary objective is to be the first to dispose of all your cards. The Card Ranking system determines the hierarchy of cards within the game.
A standard 52-card deck is utilized, with cards ranking from high to low: 2-A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3. Suits also have an order of precedence, from high to low: spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds.
Victory in Pusoy Dos is achieved by successfully discarding all 13 of your cards before your opponents.
Pusoy Offline shares affinities with poker since poker hands and values play a crucial role in the game. This similarity extends to other complimentary card game variations where players strive to clear their hands of all cards. Notably, the 2 of spades, known as Big Two, holds the distinction of being the highest single card in the game.
A set of Pusoy Dos cards can fall into several categories such as Single (one card games), Pair (2 cards of the same rank), Triple (3 cards of the same rank), Straight (5 cards forming a consecutive sequence), Flush (5 cards of the same suit), Full House (3 cards of the same rank & 2 other cards of the same rank), Quadro (4 cards of the same rank and an arbitrary card), and Straight Flush (5 cards of the same suit forming a consecutive sequence).
When comparing sets of the same type:
<ul>
<li>For full house – use the rank of the triple</li>
<li>For Quadro – use the rank of the 4 same-rank cards</li>
<li>For Flush – use the rank of the top card. If top cards are equal, compare subsequent highest cards, and so forth</li>
<li>For all other types – utilize the highest card in the set</li>
</ul>
